Happy Memorial Weekend!

Hi Everyone~
We hope you all had a good weekend. The weather was beautiful, so we spent some time outside yesterday.
Enjoy the pictures!

Mom and I playing on the blanket outside.
I'm really not sure about this pokey stuff they call grass.

I got a new Twin's baseball hat! Aren't I cute!

Here I am again.

I woke up from my nap and was sitting on Mom's lap with my teething ring (I still am not teething and have no teeth at all yet) when Duncan came and invaded my space. Whatever, I don't mind and he was comfy!
Have a good short week!

We would like to welcome summer...

Hi everyone~
I am back. I thought that rather than putting all of my eggs in your basket at once, I would spread the love over a couple of postings!! I am glad to say that summer has arrived, or at least it felt like it on Monday and Tuesday. It was in the 90's! I have been taking advantage of the weather.
I am so big now, that I can sit in my stroller all by myself without the bucket seat. Mom and I went and got the mail and then I sat and watched Dad water the lawn. He had to fix the patches that Duncan killed over the winter.
Mom caught a good picture of me here. Dad was making me smile:)

This past weekend, we went to Auntie and Uncles house for Ciara's 1st birthday party. Now that I can sit, I got to play with my cousin and her cool toys.

Here is her first cake. She was a little unsure at first and then she started to tear it apart with her little finger. I can't wait until my 1st birthday. It's not too far away!

I hope all of you enjoy this nice weather we have been having. This weekend I might get to see a Twin's baseball game. Grandma Karen is coming to visit and she said that she has treats for me! I can't wait!!
Love you all,
Jake

Jumpin' Beans in my pants!

Hi all~Jake here. I wanted to show you how big I am getting. I got this jumper from my Auntie Kris (she lives in Milwaukee). Now that I am big enough, I love to jump in my jumper. Maybe I will be the next Carl Lewis. I heard he is a good jumper or was, whatever.

It is a blast. I get a little talkative too. Mom took a little video clip while I bounced around and watched Dad play Tiger Woods golf on the Wii. He is showing me all the right moves so that I can become the next Tiger Woods. I heard you can make some good cash in the world of Golf.

Apparently, I am going to be a lot of people when I grow up! Anyway, other updates:

I still sleep pretty good at night. Dad had to lower the mattress down last weekend.

I have been on bottle strike for about a week. When I am not thirsty, I absolutely refuse the bottle and will show you my gag reflex. Mom doesn't care for that.

I am still in swimming lessons. They are almost done.

Besides the bottle strike, which is all of the time, but most of the time, I am a chow hound as mom likes to call me. I love sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, avocado, pear, apples, bananas, and blueberries. Now that I am a little bigger, I get to eat the little puffs and I LOVE mandarin oranges. I could eat a whole can if mom let me.

I sit all by myself and occasionally fall over. I got a bruise on my forehead after falling over on the lamp. Not fun.

That is about all. Not too much else for now. Mom will post more pictures soon. We have some from my cousin Ciara's birthday and others too.

Talk to you all very soon!

Love Jake

If I keep my eyes shut, she'll go away...

So, Jake decided to get up at 5 this morning.  I went in his room and put his paci back in, but he really didn't go back to sleep.  About 20 minutes later, Adam went in the room only to discover that he had soiled his diaper and needed to be changed.  I guess I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep if I had poo in my pants either.
As I was changing him, I discovered that there was some poop on his onesie and that needed to be changed too. Needless to say, he was not very happy about this.  I didn't bother putting any pajamas back on.  Adam went and made him a bottle and he chowed.  I put him back in bed around 6.
He was all cuddled up in his blanket, cozy and warm.  I got ready and we needed to get going so I went up to his room to wake him up.  I know what you are thinking..."never wake a sleeping baby".  In Jake's case, he is a pleasure to wake up.  Always smiley.
I walked in and saw this, so I grabbed the camera quick.  I really wanted to jump in the crib with him and cuddle up myself.
I put the camera back and went back in to wake him up.  I turned his light on really low and started saying his name and told him it was time to wake up.  When I walked over to his crib, I said his name again.  Here is the most adorable part:  He didn't move, he didn't open his eyes, he didn't make any noise, he just laid there in his comfy spot and smiled.  That was it.  I said his name a couple more times and still the same reaction.  Just a smile.  It was the most precious moment.  I wish I could have taken a little video, but the memory will always stay in my heart!
I hope all is well with everyone.
Until the next cute moment...
Love
Melissa

Ahhh, memories...

Hello everyone~
I know that it has been a while since I last chatted with all of you. After healing from the hives, I still wasn't myself. I didn't sleep last weekend very well so Mom took me back to the doctor on Monday and she said that I have another ear infection. Yippee! Not a lot of fun. I got some good meds and I have been sleeping from 8-6:30am for the last 3 nights without waking up. Mom and Dad are big fans of that.
I still go to swimming on Thursdays with Dad. We have a lot of fun and it wears me out.
Tonight I tried green beans for the first time! I chowed! They were very good and Mom made some blueberry-pears for me which was very yummy! She makes most of my food from scratch. My favorites are butternut squash and sweet-a-tatoes!! She often tends to let the water run out while carrots steam and she burns the bottom of the pan, but they still turn out good.
Some other news to report: Dad is running the Twin-cities Marathon in October. He wanted to last year, but my arrival was too close to the running date. So, he is going for his 5th marathon this year. I will be there to cheer him on!!

Enjoy the pictures!

I was sitting next to dad on the couch watching the Twins play!
Here I am just a couple of days old. See how big I am getting!

And here I just joined this crazy world!

Smiles!
Jake
