Baby says...

Here's one for you - our baby can talk. Yep... baby has taken a shine to putting Duncan in his place. If only Duncan would listen to the advice of his fellow friend. When Duncan barks, baby is quick to plug his/her ears and give a reminder that it is quiet time. I can also hear from baby when mom needs something to drink or eat. For instance, my favorite phrase is "Baby says its York Peppermint Patty time." Even though we create our own little voice for our baby, it's funny to imagine what they could say if they really talked.

We are anxiously awaiting the first movements of our child, we are told it will happen soon and then it will be often and steady. It's a miracle just to talk to the baby and share your thoughts and excitement. I know we will have a terrific child.

We found baby furniture and are getting ready to move some old furniture out of our guest room for the nursery. Life is good and we are very happy. Much love.

Baby Class...

Happy Mothers Day to all mothers out there, it's been an eye opening weekend already - and it's only Saturday. Yesterday we had a Dr. appt where we thought we would have an ultrasound, instead we just had a check-up and got to hear the heartbeat. In 27 years, I haven't hear anything so wonderful. We both had a smiles from ear to ear as we walked out of the office hand in hand. Melissa and the baby are doing great! We promise to add the next ultrasound picture as we get it next visit.
This morning we went to our hospital for the first of four baby classes. Funniest thing was when they asked us to grab our pillows and blankets for floor exercises... hmm, didn't bring those. That was an indication that we were in the wrong class for the day.
Nonetheless, we were going to take this class in the future - so we hung around and laughed it off with the instructor. I said eye opening... as a boy, I learned a few things. I have an even deeper respect for mothers after seeing the birth and delivery of several children on video. Yikes. I think I am an "above the sheet" kind of husband. The messy birth was overshadowed by the amazing life that followed. Awesome!
We were asked today to share something we are excited about. While I said holding our child for the first time, Melissa said that she couldn't wait to see me change a diaper... a messy one. True story, that will be an interesting adventure :)

I'll leave you with a few pictures we got as gifts, the bibs and converse shoes we mentioned in our blog a few weeks ago. Duncan even got a chance to try the shoes on.

Much love
- Adam and Melissa

Happy Birthday Duncan!!

Hello Everyone!
Adam finally got me to write a post!
Tomorrow is Duncan's birthday.  His chronological age will be 2 and there are definitely days that he acts that way.  He is a good dog though!  He finally got over chewing our blankets and has made it to the point where he doesn't need to be locked up in the kitchen all day.  He gets to roam the living room and the kitchen.  We are so proud!!!

Adam started softball tonight!  This starts the crazy schedule and the extra gauze pads and neosporin to help heal the weekly wounds he will get from sliding on his leg with only shorts on!  Yeah!!  He will play Mondays and Wednesdays for 2 different leagues.  That will definitely keep us busy for the summer.  Duncan and I went to watch tonight and were asked to leave.  Apparently, dogs aren't allowed:(:(

I am in the 17th week and have started to "show" through my clothes now.  It is definitely strange watching your body make so many dramatic changes.  I go to the doctor on Friday.  Hopefully we will get an ultrasound picture to post!!  I feel great though!  Now that summer is here, I am craving a lot of fruit!  Better than McDonalds...yuck!

Now I have to watch the dog bark at Adam while he attempts to master bowling and golf on the Wii!!

We love you all and will make a post on Friday after we see the doctor.
