A note from one PROUD Papa...

Welcome to our family, Colette Lillian! On Saturday, 12/10 at 2:22 PM we welcomed Colette to the family. It was an amazing day with a lot of time to reflect on whether we would be welcoming a little girl or boy into the family. Melissa was scheduled to be induced and it took a little bit of coaxing to get this little girl out... but she is here, we are all happy and healthy. I've included a variety of pictures, because let's face it - no one wants to hear me blabber about how much I love this little girl.

Colette was not as puffy as her brother and to our surprise was wide awake for a good 2 hours after she was born.
No, she is not doomed... my bet is she will have a full head of hair soon. The pushing part of labor lasted a few very short minutes, props to by amazing and determined wife for "gettin er done". As sensitive as that sounds, it really was a smooth delivery. A very happy big brother and a beautiful "I just gave birth" mommy holding Colette. Jacob is very concerned about the owie on her belly and proudly tells everyone that he has a baby sister Colette at the hospital that the doctors are taking care of. Seriously, doesn't Melissa look amazing - yikes!
Ah, footprints. She is such a little peanut. Apparently, as women get older they become sensitive to their weight being on display. I think I can get away with it now though, right? Baby Colette followed in her brothers footsteps with jaundice. It's a mean little blood condition that turns the skin yellow. Never fear, she hit the tanning bed and was given one to take home for a few days. Those nasty little tests where they poke your foot and draw blood stink - but she is a champ.

A happy, and tired dad with his two little buddies. Loving them so much!
This is a bit of an optical illusion, it only looks like it was taken from 50 feet way - but no... she's just that tiny. We got to take her home a few days late - but she was comfy in her car seat.

So there you have it... a beautiful baby girl welcomed by an excited big brother and very proud parents. She's the best early Christmas present we've ever gotten.
